About

The Royal Scots Association Pipe Band is an Edinburgh based band that plays for public, charity, civic and corporate events and can provide pipers and drummers for weddings, birthdays, funerals, social and corporate events.

It is part of the Royal Scots Regimental Association, whose patron is Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, and was was formed in 2000 with the aim of ‘flying the flag’ for the Royal Scots at various events. At that time, it was comprised of serving and former members of the regiment who played the pipes and drums.

Today, the band’s role has developed and it comprises a healthy mixture of civilians as well as former Royal Scots and other serving and ex-army members.

The Band can provide

  • Solo piper
  • Solo piper & Address to the Haggis
  • Mini Band (6 pipers, 3 drummers and bass drum)
  • Full Band of up to around 20 players including Drum Major

In addition it can offer

  • Highland Dancers
  • Buglers
  • Beating Retreat
  • Spectacular sunset ceremony of lowering the flag, conducted by a four man Standard Party
